What Oprah, Warren Buffett, and Steve Jobs Have in Common

When we see people like Oprah Winfrey, Warren Buffett and Steve Jobs, it may be tempting to think they magically figured out how to find success all on their own.  However, the reality is all three of them relied on others to help them overcome obstacles; they all have relied on a mentor or coach to help guide them.

Two mentors that Oprah has had are first, the well-known life coach, Tony Robbins.  Another mentor of Oprah’s was the author and poet Maya Angelo.  She wrote the book you may have read, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.

The second person is Warren Buffett, who is the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. Buffett’s mentor was Benjamin Graham, who wrote the book The Intelligent Investor;  this book has helped form some of Warren Buffett’s investment philosophy.

And last but not least is Steve Jobs, the former CEO of Apple, who creates computers, iPhones, and other things. Bill Campbell was Silicon Valley high-performance coach who was a mentor to him.

Oprah, Warren Buffett, and Steve Jobs All Have Had a Mentor. How Can A Mentor Help You?

If you are looking for success in some area of your life, a mentor can help make this journey easier. Whether you are trying to learn how to manage your money or work in business a mentor can be helpful.  Perhaps we could take a lesson from these three high-achievers and consider finding a mentor or coach to guide us.  If Oprah Winfrey, Warren Buffett, and Steve Jobs had a mentor, maybe it’s alright to let somebody else help us.
